So far in the series, we have covered the positive impact of building strong relationships and supporting communication. However, a capable environment also includes the physical spaces in which an individual lives and learns.

  • In this webinar, we’ll share practical tools and approaches including: Sensory audits and transition plans for new settings
  • Moving from assessment into action e.g., when a learner is hypersensitive to sound
  • Designing low arousal spaces that reduce anxiety and support focus.

We’ll look at the benefits of collaborating  with occupational therapists and introduce BeyondAutism's own autism-friendly classroom checklist  – focusing on the  sensory considerations section.

BeyondAutism

BeyondAutism is a charity working to ensure autistic children and young adults access an education that empowers a life full of choice, independence and opportunity.

We provide expert education services from pre-school to 25, delivering rapid outcomes through our Early Years, schools, and Post-19 services. Our Outreach and Fast Responder® teams work across the country to reduce school placement breakdown and build long-term local capacity.
